Iran, Azerbaijan would not allow foreign intervention in affairs: Jalili

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) –Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary said Iran and Azerbaijan will not allow foreign intervention to effect trans-regional cooperation between the two countries.

Saeed Jalili, who is visiting Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Ilham Aliyev today. Jalili believed that historical and brotherly links between Iran and Azerbaijan would be a good ground for improving mutual ties and joint security cooperation, and emphasized that Iran and Azerbaijan security cooperation would bring security for the whole region.

Supreme National Security Council Secretary also asserted that historical records of two countries relations and deepening of the ties would keep foreign powers at bay and out of the region.

Highlighting the joint capabilities of Iran and Azerbaijan, Jalili reiterated lasting stability in the region ensure the sustainable development in the region as guarantee for both countries’ progress.
